Magnolia Bark Extract (SFE) | C02 Extraction

The bark of magnolia officinalis has been commonly used in traditional chinese medicine for the treatment of abdominal distension and pain, nausea. Magnolia bark extract has been used as a supplement of toothpaste, and also to inhibit plant pathogens. Extraction of magnolol and honokiol from magnolia officinalis using supercritical fluid extraction ,the results indicate that supercritical carbon dioxide selectively removed parthenolide, costunolide, and cyclocolorenone when compared to standard liquid dichloromethane extraction. HPLC traces show that the carbon dioxide extract is virtually clean of any chlorophyll or fatty material peaks which hinder isolation of these chemicals.

Mangosteen Extract(SFE)

The mangosteen peel contains a variety of bioactive compounds with potential applications as therapeutic ingredients or as functional food additives such as phenolic acids, tannins, xanthones , anthocyanins.Mangosteen extract contains rich xanthone, one kind of the polyphenols in the non-edible portion. In recent years, xanthones have been noted as a functionality such as anti-cancer effect and is expected as pharmaceuticals and health supplements. Supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction was employed to extract α-mangostin from mangosteen peel at three different levels of pressure (200–300 bar), temperature (40– 60 °C) and solvent to material ratio (100–300 kg/kg).
